Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP)

NACDS is offering optional, one-on-one, state-specific support sessions to assist chain members with their Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) efforts. Sessions are available every Wednesday, with four 30-minute time slots focused on state-level RHTP pharmacy engagement opportunities.

Iowa's Healthy Hometowns program continues to expand its Rural Health Transformation Program through new funding opportunities, including the Combat Cancer Health Hub Program and the Maternal Health Hub and Spoke Networks of Care RFI. The University of Iowa Health Care and Iowa Primary Care Association have been selected by the Department of Health and Human Services as the statewide Health Hub Technical Assistance Provider for the state's Rural Health Transformation Program and Healthy Hometowns initiative. They will provide training, resources and guidance to organizations interested in developing Health Hubs. 

University of Iowa Health Care will host a kickoff webinar on June 23 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon CST to provide an overview of the program, technical assistance (TA) goals, available support services and 2026 educational opportunities. Registration for the June 23 kickoff webinar will be available soon. Interested stakeholders are encouraged to monitor program communications for registration details and additional event information.

The Department of Health and Human Services released RFP# COMPADM26008 Combat Cancer Health Hub Program, Round 2 through IowaGrants.gov. The initiative is intended to establish hub-and-spoke cancer care networks across the state, including rural provider partnerships, telehealth expansion, referral networks, provider recruitment, equipment purchases and infrastructure enhancements supporting cancer care delivery. Mandatory Letters of Intent are due June 3, and full applications are due June 17 by 12:00 pm.
