NACDS is offering optional, one-on-one, state-specific support sessions to assist chain members with their Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) efforts. Sessions are available every Wednesday, with four 30-minute time slots focused on state-level RHTP pharmacy engagement opportunities.

The Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) opened the RHTP Request for Application (RFA), with a submission deadline of 11:59 pm on August 3. Applicants should review the updated eligibility document (revised July 15) and the RHTP FAQs before applying. Organizations seeking co-applicant partnerships may submit the Potential Grantee Partnership Interest Form, with results posted to a public partnership interest spreadsheet.

Several near-term engagement opportunities remain before the application deadline. RHTP Office Hours are scheduled for July 21 (12:00 pm–1:00 pm), July 23 (1:00 pm–2:00 pm), and July 27 (12:00 pm–1 pm), with the RHTP Advisory Committee meeting also convening on July 27 from 10:00 am–11:30 am. The most recent webinar recording, How to Fill Out the Work Plan and Budget (July 8), is now posted alongside earlier sessions covering allowable costs, budgeting and partnership structures. The July 15 program newsletter is also available. Pharmacies and other eligible rural health providers are encouraged to confirm eligibility and explore the Available Vendor Partnership List for potential collaborators.

Applicants can access a full suite of resources, including RFA applicant guidanceFAQs updated June 22grant application sample activities and an eligibility list of rural health providers and partners — the latter is a key resource for pharmacies evaluating participation pathways. A Potential Grantee Partnership Interest Form is available to organizations seeking collaborators, and an Available Vendor Partnership List has been posted for providers seeking potential service vendors.

Colorado scheduled multiple webinars to support RHTP grant applicants, including a Partnerships for Grantees session on June 10, from 2:00-3:00 pm, focused on creating meaningful partnerships with healthcare organizations, community groups and vendors. A comprehensive How to Fill Out the RFA webinar is scheduled for June 23, from 9:00-10:30 am, offering 90 minutes of tips and recommendations for completing grant applications. 

The state also provides ongoing support through regular office hours (see below), along with an RHTP Advisory Committee meeting on June 22. Colorado published an Available Vendor Partnership List to help providers identify potential collaborators, and vendors can express interest through a dedicated vendor interest form.

The Department of Health Care Policy & Financing has scheduled two upcoming webinars for RHTP stakeholders. An Allowable/Non-Allowable Expenses webinar will be held on May 19 from 12:00 noon – 1:00 pm, covering essential budget-planning information for RHTP applicants, with a 30-minute presentation followed by Q&A. A second webinar on How to Prepare for this Grant is scheduled for May 26 from 12:00 noon – 1:00 pm, designed to help stakeholders prepare for the Request for Application (RFA) release. 

The state published key planning documents, including an Eligible Rural Health Providers and Partners list updated in April 2026, and maintains a Vendor Interest Form for potential partners. Future webinar topics on vendor partnerships and RFA completion are planned with dates to be announced.

The Rural Health Transformation Program Advisory Committee met on April 2. The Department of Health Care Policy & Financing is developing Request for Application (RFA) materials and continuing to assemble RHTP committees, with details on committee structure, membership and meeting schedules to be shared as they become available. 

Colorado received just over $200 million in first-year RHTP funding. The state's permissible uses include consumer tech solutions for significant IT advances designed to improve efficiency and cybersecurity, as well as workforce development initiatives requiring minimum five-year rural service commitments. The department has published eligible rural health providers and partners documentation and maintains a newsletter subscription for ongoing program updates.
