The Arkansas Rural Health Transformation Program opened applications for the RISE AR (Recruitment, Innovation, Skills, and Education for Arkansas) initiative, which supports rural healthcare workforce recruitment, training and retention efforts. Applications are due by July 24 at 12:00 pm CT and applicants are encouraged to review the NOFO and program materials for eligibility and submission requirements.

The application portal officially opened for the Promoting Access, Coordination and Transformation (PACT) initiative, a key component of the state’s Rural Health Transformation Program. The initiative is designed to strengthen and modernize rural healthcare by expanding access to care, improving coordination among providers and supporting integrated networks, workforce development and technology-enabled infrastructure. Applications are due by 12:00 pm CT on July 10. Applicants are encouraged to review the Project Narrative and Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for eligibility requirements, allowable activities and application instructions before submitting proposals.

The state's Rural Health Transformation Program released a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for PACT (Promoting Access, Coordination, and Transformation) initiative. The program is designed to strengthen and modernize rural healthcare delivery through expanded access to care, improved care coordination, workforce development, clinically integrated networks and technology-enabled infrastructure. 

The PACT initiative will support projects focused on: 

  • Expanding access to primary, specialty, preventive, behavioral health and emergency services in rural communities;  
  • Improving coordination among hospitals, clinics, EMS providers, pharmacies and community-based organizations;  
  • Strengthening trauma readiness and emergency response capabilities;  
  • Supporting clinically integrated networks (CINs) and shared data infrastructure;  
  • Enhancing workforce training and optimization; and  
  • Advancing telehealth, technology adoption and strategic facility investments.  

The application period is open June 8 through July 10, with approximately $93.6 million available through the initiative. 

Notably, pharmacies are specifically identified as eligible applicants, along with EMS providers, licensed healthcare practitioners, behavioral health providers, CINs and nonprofit or public entities serving rural Arkansas.

Arkansas has released a new Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) – Telehealth, Health-Monitoring, and Response Innovation for Vital Expansion (THRIVE) initiative. The program is designed to strengthen rural healthcare by expanding telehealth services and technology solutions that improve access to care, coordination and patient outcomes in underserved communities. 

 

Funding may support projects that: 

  • Expand telehealth infrastructure and services 
  • Improve healthcare access and efficiency through technology 
  • Strengthen digital health capabilities in rural areas 
  • Support innovative care delivery models 
  • Equip EMS providers with telehealth-enabled tools to improve patient assessment and care coordination 

Key Details 

  • Application Period: May 11 – June 12 
  • Eligible Applicants: Rural hospitals, clinics, EMS providers, behavioral health providers, Clinically Integrated Networks (CINs) and nonprofit or public entities serving rural Arkansas 
  • Available Funding: $55.65 million
