The Department of Health posted Advisory Council Meeting slides from September 3 along with a rurality definition and methodology document. A webinar is scheduled for October 1 with registration now open; slides from the August 6 and July 2 sessions are also available on the program page. Three active stakeholder surveys remain open: an EPIC Interest Survey, an EHR & Interoperability Planning Survey and a Rural Provider Value-Based Care & APM Readiness Survey. Pharmacies and other rural health providers interested in technology-driven innovation may also want to explore the Rural Tech Catalyst Fund, listed among the state’s active funding opportunities.

The Department of Health opened applications for two new Rural Health Transformation Program funding opportunities: the Capital Improvement Program and the Telehealth Infrastructure Program. These initiatives will support rural healthcare providers in modernizing facilities, upgrading technology infrastructure, expanding telehealth services and improving access to care in underserved communities. Additional information, including eligibility requirements and application materials, is available through the RHTP Funding Opportunities webpage.

The Louisiana Rural Health Transformation Program hosted a Rural Health Transformation Program Updates on June 4.  

Several stakeholder engagement surveys are currently active, including the Louisiana RHTP Food as Medicine Interest Survey, EPIC Interest Survey and EHR & Interoperability Planning Survey. The state also launched the Rural Tech Catalyst Fund as part of its technology innovation initiative.

The state announced two upcoming key events for the RHTP program. The state will host a Rural Health Transformation Summit on June 11 with Vendor Registration and Save the Date Registration currently available. Additional RHTP Webinars are scheduled for May 21.  

The Department of Health is currently collecting stakeholder input through a Food as Medicine Interest Survey, which aligns with the program's food pharmacy initiatives under the Innovative Care component.
