Michigan announced a new partnership between the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) to advance the state's Rural Health Transformation Program. Funded through Michigan's $173 million CMS rural health award, the collaboration will invest in workforce development, telehealth, remote patient monitoring, broadband expansion, and health information exchange initiatives. A key focus of the partnership is investing in rural infrastructure that supports care delivery, including telehealth, remote patient monitoring, broadband expansion, health information exchange, and technology-enabled care coordination.

The state also plans to offer direct and competitive grants to rural providers and community organizations in the coming months. For more information, visit Michigan.gov/MIHI and Michigan.gov/ORP.
